Estimating the Measure

What if we do not have a protractor? 

Sometimes, we will need to know the measure of an angle, but we will not have a protractor to use.  If this happens we need to make the best estimate.

Use what you know about angles to decide what the best estimate for the measure is. 

Keep in mind the measures of our 4 main types of angles--

  • ACUTE      -->  less than 90
  • RIGHT      -->  exactly 90
  • OBTUSE    -->  more than 90
  • STRAIGHT -->  exactly 180
